Most vehicle-pedestrian crashes on highways result in life-threatening injuries, if not fatal. The pedestrians are often the victims in these situations as they are more vulnerable compared to the vehicle and its occupants.

The repercussions of these accidents may be averted or short-lived if help arrives in due time. Therefore, commuters should strive to report car accidents whenever witnessed.

The motorist involved should also remain at the scene until officers arrive, to ensure investigators get enough detail about the accident.
