A motorcycle rider was pronounced dead in San Antonio, Texas, following a multi-vehicle collision resulting from a single vehicle which topped abruptly on a major highway. The incident, which was reported on Saturday, April 25, may require the expertise of a motorcycle accident attorney.

San Antonio officers were dispatched to the site of the crash following several reports of a traffic collision involving at least seven vehicles and a motorcycle on Southwest Military Dr.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the crash happened when a car traveling along the highway suddenly halted midway for reasons yet to be established.

As a result, another vehicle which was following close behind crashed into the disabled car before it could apply the brakes. Several other vehicles, at least six, plying the same route, joined the chain reaction, each one slamming violently into the one in front of it before the brakes could be applied.

A passing motorcycle got entangled in the domino effect and was struck due to the inability of the other vehicles to halt in time. The rider was fatally injured in the process.

Authorities have since disclosed the identity of the motorcyclist as Michael Guerra, 38. No other casualty was reported in the crash.

Officers of the TID are investigating the crash to determine what caused the first motorist to pull over midway, resulting in Guerra’s death.

A motorcycle accident attorney can assist victims of traffic accidents involving a motorcycle, or their families to get justice, and secure the maximum recompense for damages.
