School Principal Justin Jones Killed in Car Crash

A beloved school principal was killed in a car accident on Friday, according to online news outlets.

In the absence of official accident reports, there are few details surrounding the death of Link Elementary School Principal Justin Jones.

However, there were reports of a head-on-collision in Spring in which one person was killed and another was injured.

That accident occurred around 5:45 a.m. on FM 2920 near Bridgestone Lane.

Both drivers were trapped in their cars and the Spring Fire Department and Cypress Creek EMS had to extricate them. The names of the two people were not released by the authorities.

Meanwhile, those who knew the 34-year-old Jones paid glowing tributes to him during a special session on Saturday.

Superintendent of the Spring Independent School District Dr. Rodney E. Watson and others remembered him as a devoted leader and a passionate educator.

They said he was a good friend who was always willing to help other people.

Link Assistant Principal Tangy Stith said he was a fantastic person and she could not have asked for a better work confidante or friend.

Former students and parents also expressed condolences and offered prayers on social media.

Before joining Link Elementary, Jones was the assistant principal at Valley West Elementary School from 2014 to 2017.

His career in education started in Victoria where he was a middle school special education inclusion teacher as well as a boys’ athletic coach.

Jones had a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas – San Antonio and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston – Victoria.

If more information is made public about this crash, additional details will be published in subsequent accident reports. Some fatal accidents result in wrongful death lawsuits.
