Malibu Gravel Truck Crash on PCH


MALIBU, CA – Yet another horrific accident has occured on a now notorious stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway through Malibu. The stretch of road has been the site of a number of high-profile accidents and the location where too many people have lost their lives.

According to officials, the latest accident happened Thursday morning when a pickup truck collided with a big rig gravel truck. The accident left the pickup truck pinned beneath the semi, with a person trapped inside. The accident occured south of Las Flores Canyon, on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, on Thursday, August 18th around 6:30 a.m.

Traffic was stopped in both directions while crews worked to free the trapped individual and remove the gravel from the roadway. One lane of eastbound traffic was reopened at 9:15 a.m., with the rest of the lanes opening an hour later. To get around the closure, motorists had to use canyon roads.
