Police: Keelyn Davis Killed, Infant Injured In 2-Vehicle Beaumont Wreck

Beaumont police have identified the person killed in a crash on U.S. 69 as a 24-year-old man from Jasper.

Keelyn T. Davis was ejected from his vehicle in the crash, which occurred at about 2:45 p.m. in the 6600 block of Eastex Freeway, authorities said. At least two other people were hurt in the wreck.

Beaumont police said a driver, who was not publicly identified, was driving north in the area. The driver crashed into Davis’ vehicle, causing it to roll over.

Davis was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical responders. It’s unclear whether Davis was wearing a seatbelt when his pickup was struck.

At least one other person in Davis’ pickup, an infant, required treatment at St. Elizabeth Hospital, authorities said in a press release. Authorities described the infant as a “newborn baby.”

The driver of the other vehicle also suffered injuries in the wreck. The Beaumont Police Traffic Unite continue to investigate the incident.

Details about the crash remain relatively scarce. It’s unclear who investigators believe was at fault for the incident and authorities have not announced whether any citations have been issued or whether criminal charges are being considered.
