Authorities believe speed could be a factor in a single-vehicle crash that killed a Borger man early Wednesday morning in Ochiltree County.
Authorities said Bryan A. Dingman, 25, died in the wreck, which occurred at about 5 a.m. on Texas 15 near Waka. No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said Dingman as driving on Texas 15 when he lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway. Dingman’s vehicle then went off the road and he over-corrected, traveled across the highway, entered a ditch and crashed into a utility police, troopers said Wednesday.
Authorities said they believe Dingman was traveling too fast for the road conditions. Additional details about what led to the incident weren’t immediately released by investigators.
Dingman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The Texas Department of Public Safety is continuing to investigate.
Dingman’s obituary was posted Wednesday on the website for Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. He was married and had a young son, according to the listing.
“Bryan loved his family and was a very loving husband and father,” Dingman’s loved ones wrote in the obituary. “He also enjoyed fishing.”
