Police: Norlan Ricardo Perez-Corrales Arrested 1 Month After Hit-And-Run Crash In Killeen

Police said they have arrested the driver who struck and seriously injured a pedestrian late last month in Killeen before fleeing the scene.

Norlan Ricardo Perez-Corrales was arrested Wednesday on a warrant alleging causing an accident involving serous bodily injury, failure to stop and render aid, according to a Killen Police Department press release. His age and city of residence weren’t included in the press release.

Police were called to the 1100 block of Old FM 440 just before 11 p.m. Feb. 26 to investigate a report of a hit-and-run crash. They found a man, whose name has not been publicly revealed, lying in the roadway suffering from serious injuries.

The man was transported to an area hospital, where he was in critical condition, according to the release.

Investigators determined the pedestrian was walking in the roadway when a pickup truck heading north on FM 440 struck him and then fled the scene. Police said they received a Crime Stoppers tip that helped them identify the driver and vehicle.

A warrant was issued for Perez-Corrales’ arrest. He was picked up by officers Wednesday and was taken to the McClennan County Jail, where he remains held on a $200,000 bond.
