A driver was killed in a fatal single-vehicle accident that took place in Arlington Heights on Friday, March 26. No other vehicles or persons were involved in the incident.

The sedan was traveling eastbound on the Golf Road and was close to the Algonquin Road when the driver seems to have lost control of the vehicle. The sedan left the roadway and struck a traffic signal standard at a high speed.
The collision started a fire in the vehicle which soon engulfed the whole car. Police and Fire personnel from the Rolling Meadows and Arlington Heights responded to the incident. The firefighters extinguished the fire and retrieved the driver who was trapped inside during the fire. The driver had died by the time the body was removed from the vehicle. The authorities are yet to identify the unfortunate victim of the incident.
