A Monday night accident in Tarrant County resulted in the death of a passenger, accident reports state.

According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim was 28-year-old Colton Thomas Tippett.

Denton police spokeswoman Allison Beckwith said the crash occurred in the 3900 block of North Elm Street.

Officers responded to the scene around 8:38 p.m. Only one vehicle was involved in the crash.

The other occupant of the vehicle was the unnamed female driver. Police didn’t say whether she suffered any injuries.

Beckwith said preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle may have hit the curb and then rolled over.

 Tippett was partially ejected from the vehicle and he was declared dead at the scene.

Police don’t believe distracted driving or intoxication played a role in the crash. However, they are still investigating to determine exactly what happened. Depending on what the investigations reveal, the driver may face charges.
