Steve Etherton

A two-vehicle collision that took place in Caramel Township, Michigan, left one person dead and another injured. The fatal crash was reported on Sunday evening, April 19, and calls for the expertise of a motorcycle accident attorney.

The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that at about 5:11 pm, deputies were dispatched to the area Lawrence Highway and Stine Road following reports of a two-vehicle collision.

Investigators gathered that the crash involved a 2017 Ford Explorer, driven by a 56-year-old Charlotte woman, which was heading west on Lawrence Highway, towards its intersection with Stine Road.

At the same time, a 2009 Honda motorcycle was traveling east on the same road. Just as the Ford attempted a south turn onto Stine Road, it struck the bike, which was at the time crossing the intersection.

The motorcycle rider suffered fatal injuries as a result and was pronounced dead at the scene by medics. The county sheriff’s office disclosed the victim’s identity as Steve Etherton, a 73-year-old resident of Charlotte.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Explorer, whose name was withheld, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

Authorities did not disclose whether impairment was suspected as a possible cause in the crash that killed Steve Etherton. The incident, however, remains under investigation.

Victims and families of motorcycle accident victims are encouraged to involve a motorcycle accident attorney in the case as soon as possible.
