The Clark County Coroner’s Office has revealed the identity of the man who was killed on Monday in a ten-vehicle crash in East Las Vegas. The victim was not named in previous accident reports.
He is 69-year-old Moses Domingo.
On Wednesday evening, the coroner’s office said he died of multiple blunt force injuries and the authorities ruled that his death was an accident.
The crash occurred around 3:40 p.m. when Domingo crashed his Toyota Camry into several cars at a Sahara Avenue stoplight.
He had previously side-swiped a number of vehicles.
At that time, Lt. Bret Ficklin of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, said the driver may have experienced a medical episode. This was not confirmed on Wednesday.
Domingo was the sole occupant of his vehicle and he died at the scene.
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old male driver suffered serious injuries in the crash, but his name was not provided.
One vehicle burst into flames while others suffered varying levels of damage.
Monday’s crash was the 29th traffic fatality investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for 2020 so far.
Fatal crashes decreased by almost 50 percent in Nevada in March due to the statewide COVID-19 shutdown.
Twelve people died in March this year compared to 23 in March 2019, according to figures released by the Department of Public Safety.
Department spokesman Andrew Bennett said the fatalities were mostly due to speed, impairment, and a lack of seatbelt usage.
In cases where victims were not responsible for their injuries, their relatives may be able to get compensation with help from a wrongful death lawyer.
Bennett said drivers need to slow down, focus on the road, and drive sober now more than ever.
April’s accident reports will provide an even clearer picture.
