Frank Pritchett & James Anderson Fatally Injured in Massac County Traffic Wreck

The death of two people in a traffic collision involving two vehicles in Massac County, Illinois, calls for the legal expertise of auto accident attorneys. The fatal incident took place on Saturday, May 9, according to the accident reports provided.

The Illinois State Police responded to the crash shortly after 8 a.m. on reports of a two-vehicle collision that left three casualties in its wake. Officers said it happened at the intersection of Old Joppa Road and Joppa Road.

Responding officers gathered that one of the victims, identified as Frank Pritchett, 87, of Metropolis, was driving an SUV. Just as the motorist approached the intersection, he made a left turn off Old Joppa Road to join the adjoining road. However, the elderly man barely completed the bend when his vehicle collided head-on with a sedan.

The impact of the collision caused severe damages to both vehicles involved, and their respective occupants suffered major injuries. Pritchett and a passenger in the sedan, identified as James Anderson, 33, of Brookport, both succumbed to their wounds at the scene, and first responders declared them dead upon their arrival.

Meanwhile, medics transported 31-year-old Christopher Anderson, of Brookport, who was behind the wheels of the sedan, to a hospital via air ambulance. They described his injuries as life-threatening.

The reports did not indicate which of the vehicles had the right of way at the time of the collision. The tragic incident remains under investigation by the ISP.

The family of victims involved in fatal traffic crashes can seek counsel from an experienced legal representative. Auto accident attorneys can help such families conduct independent investigations to ascertain the liability of the collision. Once the faulty party is determined, the victim’s family can seek compensation for their losses using a wrongful death claim.
