A motorist is hospitalised in critical condition after a traffic wreck involving two vehicles in south Lubbock, Texas, left him and two others injured. The deadly occurrence took place early on Sunday morning, May 17, and would require the involvement of a car injury lawyer.
The Lubbock Police Department deployed officers to a location on Quaker Avenue at about 12:20 a.m. Police said three casualties resulted from the crash, with moderate to major injuries.
Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the vehicles involved was a Ford Escape driven by Kody Lovette, 27. The Escape was southbound on Quaker Avenue, driving behind a Ford F-150 which was also plying the south lanes of travel on Quaker.
Just as the vehicles approached the 12400 block, the Escape crashed into the pickup from the rear. The impact of the collision sent the pickup to the side of the roadway where it hit an electric pole and overturned onto its side. Lovette’s vehicle flipped over several times before eventually coming to rest.
Two occupants were present in the truck at the time of the collision, including the driver, Trenton Elrod, 34, and his sole passenger, Megan Ledsome. Both survived the crash, with moderate injuries.
Lovette suffered severe injuries in the traffic wreck. Medics arrived at the scene a few minutes later and transported all three victims to University Medical Center for treatment. The accident reports failed to disclose their condition at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by the Major Crash Investigation Unit.
Injured victims of traffic collisions can hire a car injury lawyer who may review the case, and determine whether the victim is eligible for damage compensations using a personal injury claim.
