The arrest of a food delivery driver who reportedly struck and injured a female victim in Chicago, Illinois, calls for the expertise of a top accident lawyer. Chicago Police filed felony charges against the suspect on Monday, May 18, days after the traffic collision.
Authorities said the victim’s misconduct got captured on camera during its execution on Friday night, May 15. It happened just in front of Ms. T’s Southern Fried Chicken. Witnesses said the confrontation ensued after restaurant staff asked the delivery man to wait outside the restaurant in compliance with social distancing.
The suspect, identified as Aamir Mohammed, 30, reportedly broke into an argument with restaurant staff. The restaurant’s owner, Nita Tanner, told officers the man then kicked the door of the establishment and damaged it before heading back to his vehicle.
Footage of the incident showed the man after the argument seated in a Toyota Prius after the dispute must have played out. Two women were standing along a curb, blocking Mohammed’s line of exit, while another recalled the suspect threatening to run her over.
Mohammed, who was wearing a mask in the clip, ignited his vehicle and slammed into one of the women. The crash caused the struck victim, disclosed as Tanner’s daughter, serious injuries to her head, arms, shoulders and pelvis. Mohammed fled the scene of the mishap immediately.
According to police reports, the culprit turned himself in the next day, and deputies took him into custody. He faces charges of aggravated battery, failure to report an incident with injuries, and driving without a license. He would need to hire a top accident lawyer for representation prior to his court appearance.
