Aleksander Stovanovskia Injured After Getting Trapped Between Two Semi-Trucks in Morris

A man’s kind gesture almost turned fatal after he got pinned between two semi-trucks at a truck stop in Morris, Illinois. According to the Morris Police Department, Aleksander Stovanovskia, 28, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, almost lost his life at about 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8th.

Facts from the accident report showed that the victim and his friend were spending the night at the truck stop on Romines Drive. The two were helping trucks back into their spots when Stovanovskia noticed a semi-truck driven by Reid Hahn of Colorado about to hit another.

The police said that the victim then ran behind the semi, and tried to signal Hahn to stop backing up. The trucker failed to see Stovanovskia and pinned him between his vehicle and another. The man’s friend had to motion the driver to prevent him from backing up further and causing more injuries.

The victim bled from his head and leg as medics transported him to Morris Hospital. The MPD did not state if they would cite the truck driver. There is no additional information at this time.

Truck accidents are not uncommon, and when they occur, they sometimes have fatal consequences. One of the common causes of crashes involving big vehicles is fatigue and inadequate rest by the drivers who travel interstate.

Thus, semi-truck drivers must ensure that they get adequate rest before getting on the road each day. Additionally, eat healthy, travel in favorable weather, wear a seatbelt, and maintain a proper stopping distance.
