An accident report from the Sauget area of Illinois disclosed that an East St. Louis man lost his life in an auto-pedestrian collision. The St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. said that Thomas Emmanuel Williams, 59, of the 3100-block of Trendley Avenue, died at about 10:43 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22nd.
The man succumbed to his wounds at the scene after a vehicle struck him while he walked north on Falling Springs Road near Monsanto Avenue. James Jones, the Chief of Sauget Police Department, described the automobile involved as a silver passenger car and revealed that it left the scene, southbound toward Cahokia.
The police chief said that they are trying to locate the driver and the vehicle. Anyone with relevant information should contact the SPD on the listed line.
