Seven days after Natasha McBride caused a traffic collision that killed four people in Quincy, Illinois, a grand jury indicted her. The Adam’s County State’s Attorney, Gary Farha, Chief Rob Copley, and the Quincy Police Department publicly disclosed the new charges on Thursday afternoon, August 20th.
The grand jury indicted McBride with four counts of first-degree murder, following the deaths of four people in a collision caused by the suspect. The Friday, August 14 crash happened in the area of 4th Street and Broadway. It involved two vehicles, including one driven by the suspect.
The Quincy Police Department disclosed that Jennifer Hendrick, and her grandchildren, Dakota Corrick, Archer Corrick, and Ransom Corrick, who were traveling in the second car did not survive the collision.
Following the accident, McBride fled the scene, but the Adams County sheriff’s deputies eventually arrested her on several charges. They include four counts of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, which is a class 1 felony; four counts of reckless homicide, a class 3 felony; and four counts of driving while license suspended/revoked, a class 4 felony.
The suspect suffered injuries in the encounter, and medics conveyed her to Blessing Hospital, where she remains under treatment. Once discharged, deputies would book her into the Adams County Jail in lieu of a $5,000,000 bond.
Court papers did not indicate the scheduled date for McBride’s first hearing. Notwithstanding, the suspect would need to hire a top accident lawyer to oversee the legal proceedings.
