The services of a top accident lawyer may be required after a man got arrested in Antioch, Arizona, following a multi-city police chase, which ended in a deliberate head-on collision. The Antioch Police Department announced the arrest on Wednesday, April 1.

The heated chase began at about 1:35 pm on Tuesday, March 31, in Oakley. Authorities reported that the accused was driving aggressively in a white Nissan Altima when officers of the Oakland Police department sighted and attempted to pull him over.

The erratic driver, Andy Monticello, 54, sped off without complying, leading the officers in a hot pursuit, which was later called off due to public safety.

Not long afterward, the Brentwood Police department received several 911 calls reporting a vehicle with the same description, moving erratically through the streets. The reports claimed the motorist was driving on pedestrian-designated areas, narrowly missing on-foot commuters.

Further reports alleged that the driver jumped stop signs and attempted to force other vehicles off the road on a State Highway 4 bypass near Sand Creek and Balfour roads in Brentwood.

Monticello was eventually intercepted in Antioch, following a direct confrontation with a police sergeant on Deer Valley Road.

According to the Antioch police, the motorist deliberately joined oncoming traffic lanes, in the path of the officer, and sped towards him. Despite attempts by the sergeant to evade the collision, the Nissan struck his vehicle head-on. No one was injured in the crash.

Following the accident, Andy Monticello was apprehended by the police, and detained at the Martinez Detention Facility. Officers soon discovered he had an outstanding felony warrant from Arizona.

Accidents caused by purposeful attempts are not uncommon in the state. However, it takes the intervention of a top accident lawyer to secure a favorable verdict.
