Wheelchair-Bound Pedestrian, Rosario Ortiz, Fatally Injured in Chandler Crash

The death of a confined pedestrian who met his end over the weekend in a tragic accident in Chandler, Arizona, calls for the intervention of a top accident lawyer. The incident occurred on the evening of Sunday, May 24.

Chandler Police officers reported the crash just after 9:23 p.m., in Arizona Avenue and Frye Road. The involved pedestrian was confined to a wheelchair when the crash happened, and was the only casualty confirmed in the accident reports.

Investigators determined that the victim, identified as 41 year old Rosario Ortiz, was crossing Arizona Avenue at Elgin Street. At the same time, a vehicle was heading south in the right lane on Arizona. Police said before the pedestrian made it across the street in the west direction, the approaching vehicle struck the wheelchair.

The impact of the collision knocked off the pedestrian, causing him major injuries. Paramedics with the Chandler Fire Department personnel pronounced Rosario Ortiz dead when they arrived. The reports failed to disclose the identity and condition of the motorist involved in the crash.

Investigators believe speed, intoxication and distracted driving did not contribute to the fatal collision which led to Ortiz’s death.

The crash led to the shut down of all north and southbound lanes on Arizona Avenue and Elgin Street for hours. No other detail is available at this time.

In cases like this, the deceased’s family needs to seek counsel from a top accident lawyer who could help secure damage recompense for their losses.
