A motorcyclist has died four days after he was involved in an accident in southeast Tucson.
Sixty-two-year-old Jeffrey McAllister passed away on Tuesday, according to accident reports.
Tucson police say McAllister and his wife were heading west on Mary Ann Cleveland Way when their 2017 Harley Davidson collided with a 2016 Toyota Yaris that was traveling east.
The driver of the Yaris was attempting to turn left onto Houghton Road on a yellow arrow, police said.
The accident took place around 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
McAllister and his wife, whose name was not provided, received medical attention at the scene and were then taken to Banner – University Medical Center. The occupants of the Yaris did not sustain any injuries.
McAllister passed away while he was getting treatment at the hospital. However, his wife’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Police said it did not appear that either of the drivers involved was impaired. Officers did not issue any citations.
In 2018, the last year for which complete figures are available, there were 127,056 crashes in Arizona. Of these, 916 were fatal and 1,010 people died.
According to the Arizona Motor Vehicle Crash Facts 2018 published by the Arizona Department of Transportation, Friday was the peak day for accidents.
