A female pedestrian was found dead last weekend in what police believe to have been a hit-and-run vehicle-pedestrian collision in Phoenix, Arizona. Accident reports obtained from the Phoenix Police Department confirmed that the bizarre occurrence took place on Saturday, May 2.

Phoenix police officers were dispatched to the crash location shortly after 4 am, following a call from a passerby reporting a woman lying unresponsive on the roadway.

When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian sprawled near the road, in the 4400 N. 43rd Avenue. Following a thorough examination, emergency responders announced that the supposed crash victim was already dead.

Police have since identified the fatal victim as 58-year-old Kimberley McMahon. Her place of residence was not disclosed in the reports.

Investigating officers are yet to establish the circumstances leading to the fatality. However, authorities believe the incident was a case of hit-and-run.

No information has been revealed about the motorist that struck McMahon or the description of the vehicle driven by the motorist.

Officers are still investigating the deadly crash to determine the events leading to Kimberley McMahon’s death prior to the discovery of her body.

Authorities have implored anyone with useful information that could facilitate the solving of the case to get in touch with the Phoenix Police Department, or the Silent Witness.
