Melanie Lopez and Michael Norris Jr. Die in Mesa Single-Vehicle Crash

One of the car accident reports from the Mesa area of Arizona tells of the tragic death of two people in an accident on Tuesday, May 26th. The Mesa Police Department identified them as Melanie Reina Lopez, 43, and Michael Norris Jr. 28.

The crash report showed that impairment might have played a role in the fatal accident. The investigators said that the two were traveling in an undisclosed car model, heading north on Greenfield Road from Loop 202. Their vehicle hit a curb at the end of a cul-de-sac, causing it to go airborne and hit the ground.

The car flipped on its roof and rested, leaving three out of the four persons traveling in it trapped. Responding firefighters worked to extricate the trio, but two of them were unresponsive at the time. The duo is the driver, Lopez, and a passenger, Norris.

The other two passengers sustained minor injuries and told the police that they were driving to the Reservation. The group thought they were on Gilbert Road, without realizing until it was too late that they were on Greenfield.

The police are investigating to confirm the suspicion of impairment. There is currently no additional information at this time.

A single-vehicle crash is one of the common forms of motor vehicle accidents, as seen in several reports of car accidents. Traffic authorities advise drivers to exercise care and caution when on the road to save their lives and those of their passengers.
