Peoria Police Veteran, Jason Judd, Dies in Solo Motorcycle Crash

The Peoria Police Department, Peoria, Arizona, lost one of their officers to a single-motorcycle accident on Wednesday, July 1st. Officials said in a press release that Jason Judd, 52, suffered a crash in Liberty High School near 91st Avenue and Deer Valley Road.

Facts from the accident report disclosed that the man’s motorcycle gave out under him after performing a demonstration to young people at the high school. The students had returned to their classrooms when the crash occurred and didn’t witness it.

The accident’s cause remains unknown, but Chief Art Miller of the PPD said Judd, who worked with the department for 17 years, was an excellent motorcycle rider. Beyond being a great cop, the victim was an Airforce veteran, a husband, father, friend, and someone who loved to serve the people of Peoria.

Officer Brandon Sheffert said Judd was an instructor; he had been working with the department’s youth program camp, and he also worked with the traffic unit. He described the victim as a fantastic person, adding that his death is tough on all those who knew him.
