A motorcycle accident attorney may be needed after a cyclist was struck and killed by a semi tractor-trailer while riding his motorcycle through Kimball Avenue in Chino, California. The Chino Police Department, on Tuesday, April 7, named the fatal victim as Humberto Garduno, 27, of Chino.
The tragic occurrence took place at about 5:30 pm on Thursday, April 2. Officers were dispatched to the 6700 block of Kimball Avenue upon reports of a traffic collision involving a big rig and a motorcycle.
Detectives at the crash site gathered that Garduno, who was employed at the Walmart Distribution Center had just left the centre when the crash happened.
The cyclist reportedly ran a red light at an intersection near the Walmart and collided with a big rig which had the right of way. The impact knocked the cyclist and the motorcycle to the ground, resulting in critical injuries.
Paramedics accompanying the responding officers made several life-saving attempts to rescue the victim, to no avail. Humberto Garduno was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorist operating the OnTrac big rig was not injured in the collision. The driver, whose name was withheld, pulled over and waited at the scene until law enforcement arrived.
The incident remains under investigation by the Chino Police Department.
Motorcyclists on major highways are often prone to traffic accidents, and in most cases, end up suffering minor to fatal injuries.
Victims of motorcycle accidents or their families have the option of contacting a motorcycle accident attorney to ascertain that the case is appropriately reviewed before being brought before a court.
