A Pico Rivera man was among those affected in a car accident north of Asuza, according to authorities. As a result of the accident, the man, Sanchez 19, was killed alongside three others who were injured in the accident on late Tuesday. The car accident occurred when the vehicle drove off a mountain road on Highway 39. The 2005 Ford Mustang went over the side of the mountain road, a drop which is estimated at between 50 and 60 feet. The single-vehicle accident seems to have been caused by bad judgment by the driver.
Jose Toresses, also 19 and of Pico Rivera, was driving the vehicle when t accident occurred. Carlos Ineriano and Javier Araujo, both 19 and of Pico Rivera, were passengers in the car that were injured in the accident. The three injured people were taken to a local hospital from the scene, which required substantial time and help from authorities. According to authorities, Los Angeles Fire Department responded with more than 40 officials to the scene, which took more than two hours to clear entirely.
