Winds from an El Nino storm are being blamed for the death of San Diego musician Nicki Carano, who was crushed by a falling tree on Sunday.
The 48 year old drummer was on her way to perform with her band Spider Tree when the storms blew the massive tree over, crushing the silver Honda Carano was driving. Emergency crews and a passerby were unable to save her.
Fans memorialized the drummer on her band’s Facebook page, leaving messages of love and support for her family and the band.
“My greatest memory over the last five years, she just at the drop of a hat did everything and anything for our kids,” her brother David said. “She was funny and super professional.”
