Jo Ann Beasely, 78, of Franklin, received serious injuries in an accident with a tractor trailer in Mountain City, Georgia on Saturday, January 26, 2020. Emergency Medical Services airlifted Beasely to Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC). Two other people also went to the NGMC with injuries.

Jo Ann Beasely was a passenger in a white Toyota Rav4 on GA-15/Highway 441 in the left southbound lane. Her husband, Tommy Clark Beasely, 82, was driving. He slowed to make a left turn onto Cathey Road.

The tractor trailer behind them was following too closely. As a result, it collided with the rear end of the SUV at the intersection. Due to the impact, the semi truck then jack-knifed, which pushed the Rav4 into a Toyota Corolla that was traveling north on the other side of the highway.

Mr. Beasely also went to the NGMC, as did Rashad Kirksey, 30, of Canton Ohio. Kirksey was the driver of the Corolla.

The tractor trailer’s driver, Ronnie Wood, 68, of Townsville, South Carolina, did not receive any injuries from this semi truck crash.
