102-Year-Old Clarence A. Tritley Dies in Shiloh Accident

A 102-year-old man was killed in a car crash that took place on Friday, February 28. The victim has been identified by the Shiloh police as Clarence A. Tritley.

According to the details shared by the police, Clarence A. Tritley was riding a vehicle westbound on the Frank Scott Parkway when the crash took place. Another driver who was driving eastbound in the oncoming traffic’s lane lost control of the vehicle. The other vehicle then crossed the center line and collided with Tritley’s car head-on.

The crash took place close to the Fountain Lakes Drive. According to the Shiloh police, it happened in the early hours of the Friday morning. Following the incident, Tritley was rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries. However, he couldn’t recover from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the medical facility.

The accident involved two vehicles and drivers of both drivers. No other occupants were present in either of the vehicles at the time of the crash. The driver of the other vehicle was also injured in the crash and rushed to a local hospital for treatment. However, as per the latest reports, the other driver’s injuries are not life-threatening.

The exact location of the accident was close to the borders of O’Fallon and Shiloh. Shiloh police continues to investigate the incident, especially with regards to exactly what caused the other driver to lose control and cross the center line. The police have not ruled out the usual causes such as speeding or alcohol, although so far the investigations do not indicate that either was a factor.
