The expertise of a car injury lawyer would be useful following a two-car crash in Coles County, Illinois, that left two people hospitalized with injuries. The incident took place on Thursday afternoon, July 2.
The Illinois State Police divulged in a press release that the crash happened on 100N, a few miles west of 980E. Two people were involved in the traffic wreck, and both ended up with major injuries.
Investigators determined that one of the victims was behind the wheels of a white 2014 Chevrolet Impala sedan. The other was driving a 2017 Bronze Nissan Marano on the eastbound lanes of 1000N. The driver of the sedan, later identified as 77-year-old Clarissa A. Elzy of Charleston, was westbound on 1000N.
For unknown reasons, the sedan operator let her vehicle cross the dividing line, into eastbound traffic, directly on the path of the Nissan. The two cars collided head-on, leaving Elzy, and the other motorist, Nancy R. Mathias, 67, of Arcola, trapped inside their respective vehicles.
Fire department operatives extricated the victims from the wreckage. An ambulance conveyed them to a local hospital for treatment. No update on their conditions was immediately available.
Deputies issued Elzy a citation for improper road usage.
Anyone injured in a traffic collision caused by a third party can pursue an injury lawsuit in court, under the guidance of a car injury lawyer.
