Joshua Johnson Arrested On DUI, Other Charges After Injury Wreck In Bartlett


A North Aurora man faces several charges for allegedly being drunk behind the wheel when he crashed into another vehicle at a Bartlett intersection, injuring the other driver.

Joshua O. Johnson, 32, was arrested after the wreck, which occurred at about 7 p.m. Tuesday in Bartlett, according to police. He faces two counts of aggravated driving under the influence, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.08% or more and driving with a suspended license.

Police said Johnson was driving east on Lake Street at about 7 p.m. Tuesday when he blew through the intersection with Oak Avenue. He struck another vehicle that was attempting to turn from Lake Street onto Oak Avenue, according to authorities.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to an area hospital with injuries that aren’t believed to be life-threatening, according to authorities. The driver’s name and other identifying information weren’t revealed by police.

Johnson was arrested and held on a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to make another court appearance April 9.

In addition to the criminal charges, Johnson was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid accident and disobeying a traffic control device, according to authorities.
