Motorcycle Accident Kills Stephan J. Nelson

A man was killed in a motorcycle crash that happened in the Bureau County, Illinois on Tuesday, April 7. The incident took place in the evening and was reported to the authorities at around 7:30 p.m. A motorcycle attorney can help the victim’s family seek wrongful death compensation if the other driver’s negligence is proved in police investigations.

According to the details shared by the authorities, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred along the Lover’s Lane Road. A motorcycle and an SUV collided less than a mile from the South Main Street in Princeton. The motorcycle was driving eastbound right behind another car when the motorcyclist attempted to pass the vehicle in front of him. However, as he did so, he collided into a westbound SUV, sustaining critical injuries.

The motorcyclist was identified by the authorities as Stephan J. Nelson, 30, of Princeton. Nelson incurred critical injuries after colliding with the SUV. As the first responders and law enforcement personnel arrived on the scene of the crash, Nelson was rushed to an area hospital for emergency medical treatment. However, he couldn’t recover and succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Bureau County Coroner Janice Wamhoff revealed Nelson’s name and particulars on Wednesday, April 8, a day after the crash. Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.

Authorities are trying to determine how the accident was caused and if there was negligence on the part of other drivers as well. Investigations are currently being led by the Bureau County Sheriff’s Department, with assistance from the Coroner’s Office. Once the investigations conclude, it will be clearer whether the SUV driver committed any negligence in causing the accident. If that turns out to be the case, Nelson’s family can seek compensatory damages with the aid of a motorcycle attorney.
