Bakari Diaby Faces DUI Charges After Injuring Woman in Naperville Crash

A drunk driving attorney would be useful after a man got arrested on DUI suspicions for causing a two-vehicle collision that left another motorist injured. The occurrence played out on Sunday, June 21 in the Naperville area of Illinois.

The Illinois State Police responded to the crash at about 7 p.m., following reports of a major collision with serious injuries. The accident involving a Nissan Altima and a wrong-way Honda CRV happened on Naper Boulevard, according to the police incident reports.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect, identified as Bakari M. Diaby, 22, of Naperville, was driving the Honda. His vehicle was southbound on Naper Boulevard when for unknown reasons, it suddenly crossed the double yellow lines and veered into northbound traffic.

As a result, the motorist collided with the Altima, which was at the time heading north on Naper. The driver of the Altima suffered severe injuries in the encounter, and medics transported her to an area hospital for urgent medical aid. The accident reports identified her only as a 55-year-old Glen Ellyn woman. Diaby sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the wreck and also received transportation to a hospital, but was later released.

Officers determined that the Honda driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. They ultimately charged him with one felony count of aggravated DUI-alcohol. In addition, Diaby faces charges for illegal lane usage, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and illegal lane usage

Anyone facing DUI charges should endeavor to get in touch with a drunk driving attorney for representation in due time.
