Three-Vehicle Crash in Yorkville Injures Alfredo Rubio, One Other


Two people sustained injuries in a three-vehicle crash that occurred in Yorkville. Authorities released the identities of the victims on September 8, Tuesday. One of the victims was identified as Alfredo Rubio, 37, of Chicago. The other victim was identified as Kevin Collins, 79, of Yorkville.

According to the details shared by the Yorkville police, the incident occurred on South Bridge Street at the Foundation View Drive on September 4, Friday. It was reported to the authorities at around 12:25 p.m.

Authorities have not released the precise details of how the crash occurred. Rubio and Collins were driving two separate vehicles which were involved in the accident along with a third vehicle. The driver of the third vehicle was identified as Juan Alvardo, 56, of Aurora.

Both Rubio and Collins were transported to the Rush Copley Medical Center for the treatment of their injuries. The precise nature and extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

Alvardo remained uninjured in the crash. Preliminary reports from the police reveal that it was the negligence of Alvardo that caused the three-vehicle accident. He has been issued multiple citations. These include disobeying a traffic control device, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, and having no valid registration.
