Charisse Morris Injured in Marquette Accident


The Marquette Police Department has identified the individuals involved in an accident that took place earlier this week. The accident involved three vehicles and only one individual was hospitalized for non-critical injuries. This individual has been identified as Charisse Morris, 31, of Marquette.

According to the details shared by MPD, the accident took place along the U.S. 41 South. Morris was driving a black SUV in the southbound lanes of the road when he apparently lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle drove across the center line and came into the path of the oncoming traffic.

It was then that his vehicle collided with a tan SUV traveling in the northbound lanes of the road. The driver of the northbound vehicle was identified as Patrick Markey, 47, of Marquette. Markey sustained only minor injuries and refused medical treatment following the crash.

Another vehicle crashed into the wreck of the first two vehicles, becoming involved in the incident. The driver of this third vehicle was identified as James Drosen, 67, of Marquette. Drosen remained safe from any injuries.

Marquette Police Department responded to the site of the accident. In the rescue, cleanup and on-site investigations, the MPD was assisted by a number of other departments and agencies. These include Michigan State Police, Chocolay Township Police Department, UPHS EMS, Marquette County Sheriff’s Department and the Northern Michigan University Public Safety. MPD continues to investigate the incident. Preliminary reports show that Morris caused the incident although it remains to be seen if speeding, alcohol or any other specific factors were involved.
