Emilee Woodruff and Daughter Killed in Trailer Fire

In a tragic incident that took place on Tuesday, February 25, a mother and her baby daughter lost their lives in a trailer fire. The incident happened at the Bridgeport Mobile Home Park located in the Bridgeport Charter Township.

According to the details shared by the Bridgeport Fire Department, the trailer caught fire in the early hours of the morning. At about 6:40 a.m. the firefighters were notified of the fire. As the firefighters reached the site of the fire, they found the trailer fully ablaze with fire torching every portion of the mobile home.

A number of civilians had attempted to intervene and help before the firefighters arrived. However, they had failed because of the flames. Emilee Woodruff, 23, and her 10-month daughter Autumn Wlock were the occupants of the trailer at the time of the incident. Both lost their lives in the tragedy.

It took the firefighters nearly an hour to put down the fire. By this time, the flames had totally destroyed the trailer. The fire had also spread causing near-total damage to a second trailer stationed nearby. A third trailer also incurred slight damage due to the heat from the blaze.

Firefighters from the Buena Vista Township and the Spaulding Township responded to the incident and took part in the aid efforts. The Michigan State Police continues to investigate the incident. According to the details available so far, it is very likely that the fire was caused by an unfortunate accident and there was no foul play involved.
