Samir Hernandez Arrested for Watercraft Accident on Colorado River that Killed Tammie Lynch

A press release by the Nevada Department of Wildlife on Tuesday, August  25th, disclosed the details of a watercraft accident on the Nevada area of the Colorado River. The occurrence claimed the life of Tammie Lynch, 23, of New York, and placed Samir Hernandez, 35, of Los Angeles, in jail.

The man would need a top accident lawyer to represent his interest. The NDW said that the incident happened on Friday, August 21st, near Laughlin, and it involved two watercraft. Lynch sustained severe wounds from the occurrence and passed away while receiving treatment at a medical center in Bullhead City, Arizona.

Hernandez operated one of the watercraft involved in the accident while the victim was a passenger in the other. Game wardens who responded to the scene questioned the suspect and the operator of the other vessel. They determined that the man was impaired and took him to custody.

The suspect is facing a charge of operating under the influence resulting in death and involuntary manslaughter. Hernandez faces time in prison if found guilty and convicted of the offenses.

Game Warden Captain Brian Bowles said in the release that accidents of this nature are why the NDW is adamant that people never drink and operate a boat. The warden, who is also the boating law administrator for Nevada, added that alcohol impairs a boater’s vision, judgment, balance, and reaction time. It is also the leading contributing factor in recreational boater deaths.
