A little girl was struck on Tuesday night while attempting to cross the road in Arlington, Texas. Her family may want to seek legal advice from a top accident lawyer.

According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, the young victim is Tamara Mendoza.

The deadly crash took place in the area of the 800 block of Blue Sky Drive in Arlington’s southeast.

Officers found Mendoza when they responded to a report of the crash around 8:30 p.m.

She was transported to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.

Investigators believe an SUV that was traveling south on Blue Sky Drive hit the little girl and then ran her over.

Police say the driver of the SUV was in a man in his 60s and he cooperated with the authorities. He was allowed to leave the scene and it is not believed that he was speeding or impaired by alcohol at the time of the crash.

The authorities have not made his name public.

Investigations into the crash are still ongoing.

Around 6,590 pedestrians died in motor vehicle crashes in the United States in 2019, based on projections by the Governors Highway Safety Association.

Using figures from across the country for the first six months of the year, the association predicted that this would be the highest number in 30 years.

The raw data were adjusted in historical trends that suggested there would be a five percent increase over the previous year’s death.

In 2018, 6,227 pedestrians were killed on the country’s roads.
