Courtney Pilkington

The identity of the woman who died last weekend after her vehicle encountered an undisclosed road hazard in southwest Fort Worth, Texas, has been released. According to accident reports supplied by the Fort Worth Police Department, the victim was identified on Monday, April 27, by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as Courtney Pilkington, 28, of Burleson.

Officers responded to the crash just before 7:14 am, following reports of a traffic wreck on the 7600 block of Chisholm Trail Parkway that left at least one person unresponsive.

Upon investigation, deputies gathered that the vehicle in question was driving across the Sycamore School Road junction at an undetermined speed. Tarrant County authorities said the car struck a fixed object on the roadway.

The impact of the collision caused the car to suffer major damages, leaving its occupant severely injured. When emergency responders arrived, they pronounced the female motorist dead at the scene. No other casualty was recorded.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office listed Courtney Pilkinton’s cause of death as blunt-force injuries sustained in an accident. Impairment by drugs or alcohol did not appear to have played a role in the fatal collision. Further information regarding the crash was not released in the accident reports. The incident remains under investigation.

Motorists are advised to drive carefully at all times while adhering to traffic safety regulations laid down by the State at all times.
