Lisa Ann Vara Dies After Crash That Seriously Injures Lola Dale Ray

A mother and daughter were injured on Monday as they crossed U.S. Highway 67 around midday, Texas accident reports state.

The crash happened in the eastbound lane of the highway between Hereford Street and Spanish Oak Trail.

Lisa Ann Vara, 31, succumbed to her injuries at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital where she was taken by helicopter.

Meanwhile, her mother, 56-year-old Lola Dale Ray is in critical condition at the same facility.

The two women were residents of Glen Rose.

They were apparently going back to the Glen Rose Inn & Suites after paying a visit to the Valero Pronto Market on the other side of U.S. 67.

Information officer with the Texas Department of Public Services, Ricky Hunter, said Vara died at 1:21 p.m.

According to Ray’s former sister-in-law Rebecca Vara, Ray sustained internal injuries as well as a severe injury to her left arm. Vara said Ray had undergone surgical procedures and was reportedly not breathing on her own.

DPS said Vara and Ray were struck by a 2014 Dodge Ram driven by 40-year-old Walnut Springs woman Alison Leigh Baker. She was not injured, and no charges were filed against her immediately, accident reports indicated.

Even if no charges or citations ever result from the tragic accident, Vara and Ray’s families may want to talk to a top accident lawyer to learn about the options available to them.

They may be able to claim compensation.

Vara was unmarried and she did not have any children. She is survived by her parents, sister, and two brothers.
