Motorcyclist, James Reeves Tragically Falls to Death in Fort Worth

Authorities pronounced a man dead this week after he tragically fell off a bridge while riding his motorcycle in Fort Worth, Texas. The Tarrant County authorities divulged in the accident reports that the victim met his end on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 5.

Fort Worth Police officers responded to the scene of the wreck shortly after 2:30 pm. According to the reports, witnesses informed the police of a motorbike rider who fell from the Fort Worth interstate bridge, onto an underlying ditch and ended up unresponsive.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the fatal victim as James Reeves, a 52-year-old resident of Haltom City.

From the investigations, officers gathered that the victim was traveling along the interstate bridge in his motorcycle before the encounter. For reasons yet unknown, he lost control of the two-wheeled vehicle and drove his motorbike into a wall near Interstate 35W’s intersection with I-20’s westbound ramp.

The impact caused Reeves to be thrown off his motorbike. He then went over the bridge, was airborne for seconds, before landing on a concrete culvert underneath.

Emergency responders pronounced the motorcycle rider dead at the scene when they arrived. The accident reports did not reveal if the solo motorcycle wreck affected any other vehicle or commuter.

The cause of the tragic occurrence is still unknown. Investigators would try to determine if factors like speed, impairment, a potential hazard on the roadway that may have caused Reeves to slip, or a faulty engine contributed to the crash.
