Update: Isaac Noel Escobedo Dies Almost Two Weeks After Hit-And-Run

A motorcyclist who received injuries in a hit-and-run accident on April 25 has died. In cases like this, the family has to right to seek advice from a top accident lawyer in Texas.

Thirty-five-year-old Isaac Noel Escobedo passed away on May 6 due to injuries sustained in the crash in far east El Paso.

The accident happened in the 12900 block of Montana Avenue around 10 p.m.

Deputies’ investigations revealed that Escobedo was heading east on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when a Ford Mustang rear-ended the bike. The driver fled the scene.

Law enforcement officials later tracked down the vehicle and the suspect, Cody Dale Caudill.

The 24-year-old was initially arrested for leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury.

However, after Escobedo succumbed to his injuries, the charge was upgraded to manslaughter.

Caudill is being held in the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility on a $551,000 bond. His previous bond was $50,000.

For an individual to be convicted of manslaughter in Texas, the state must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they acted recklessly and caused the death of another person.

Manslaughter is a second-degree felony and it is punishable by up to 20 years in a state prison along with a fine of up to $10,000.

There is no requirement for premeditation or intent and car accidents can lead to manslaughter charges. Given the seriousness of the charge, victims’ survivors often seek compensation with help from a top accident lawyer.
