A 47-year-old woman has been arrested on accusations that she hit El Paso firefighter with her vehicle and fled on February 12.
Shiloh Danielle Hutchings is accused of striking Armando Lopez around 7 a.m. while he and other firefighters worked at the scene of a car crash on Transmountain Road in West El Paso.
Police said Hutchings was arrested after a citizen tipped them off.
El Paso Police Department officials said acting on this information, they found a 2006 blue Chevrolet Tahoe with its license plates removed at a Rushing Street business.
They then obtained an arrest warrant for Hutchings ad requested help from the U.S. Marshals Service’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
Officers found Hutchings at a Dyer Street hotel and arrested her on suspicion of causing an accident involving serious bodily injury.
She was booked into the El Paso County Jail and placed on a $100,000 bond.
Jail logs show Shiloh Danielle Hutchings has been arrested at least 13 times since 1992. Charges against her included driving while intoxicated, driving without a license, and assault causing bodily injury.
She was arrested in 2014 on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She admitted to the charge in 2015 and was sentenced to 25 days in jail.
Hutchings was accused of driving without a valid license last year and court records show that case is pending.
Hutchings also pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily injury in 2003. The court sentenced her to more than a year of probation.
Lopez is said to be in stable condition and making progress.
