Victim of Vidor Fatal Hit-and-Run Disclosed As John Dylan Stanley

The 25-year-old man who was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Monday night has been named as John Dylan Stanley, a resident of Vidor, Texas.

The Dispatch Center of the Vidor Police Department got a call about a collision between a car and a pedestrian in the 1600 block of North Main opposite Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

The person on the phone said a black pickup truck hit a pedestrian who was in the roadway. They reported that the driver drove off from the scene without stopping.

John Dylan Stanley was found lying in the roadway and he was declared dead.

The pickup was last spotted going west onto Wexford Drive and heading into the Wexford Park Subdivision. However, when police checked the area, they didn’t see the vehicle.

The Acadian Ambulance Service responded to the scene with Orange County ESD #1.

Also on the scene was Justice of Peace Stagner who ordered an autopsy.

Meanwhile, the Vidor Police Department has asked for the assistance of the public in identifying the vehicle involved in the crash and its driver.

Residents in the Wexford Park Subdivision have been asked to review their home security footage to see if they picked up an image of the vehicle. It is estimated that the vehicle entered the subdivision around 11:48 p.m. on February 25, 2020.

The vehicle is likely to have damage to the front driver’s side.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 to anyone who can provide information resulting in the arrest and conviction of the driver.
