An accident between a patrol motorcycle and a pickup truck has left one Los Angeles County motorcycle deputy hospitalized with minor injuries, his bike damaged terribly. The motorcycle accident, which took place on Friday afternoon around 3:20, involved a pickup truck that came onto the head of the motorcycle as it progressed into Newhall Avenue. On impact, the deputy flew from the motorcycle into the air and back onto the road. Paramedics arrived at the scene, rushing the deputy to a nearby hospital with what were later found to be only minor injuries. Reports from witnesses said that the pickup truck may have ran a red light when the motorcycle came into the road.
Following the accident, the scene was blocked off shortly as officials attempted to investigate the crash, and its cause. Detours were made for commuters in the meantime. The deputy’s motorcycle lay on the ground, badly mangled.
