It was a dark day in Johnson County, Georgia, with two separate car crashes claiming the lives of two people. The Georgia State Patrol on Thursday, March 5th, in its accident report, identified Tucker Bentley, 19, and Taylor Dixon, 21, as the people who died.
The two lost their lives on Tuesday, March 3rd, after the vehicles they were traveling in crashed minutes apart. The report by GSP stated that Bentley lost control of his car during a chase by deputies of Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.
The young man was driving on New Buckeye Road when he went around a curve too fast and drove off the road. The car Bentley was driving flipped over less than a mile from Calvary Church Road, hit a tree and killed him instantly.
A few minutes later, a 2015 Toyota Camry on New Buckeye Road, driven by Gracie Fulghum, 19, went on the shoulder of the road when the young lady lost control of it. The vehicle turned clockwise and hit several trees before coming to rest.
Dixon was an occupant in the car, as well as Ramsey Bentley, 25. Emergency services officers at the scene brought out the young people from the wrecked vehicle and transported them to Navicent Health for treatment.
Dixon was later pronounced dead while Fulghum and Ramsey survived their severe injuries. There is no update on their condition at the time of this report.
The investigation into the crash is active, and the GSP has the help of its Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team. Drugs or alcohol did not play a role.
