A car collided with a Jimmy John’s restaurant in Volo, Illinois shortly before 11:49 on Wednesday.
The restaurant, which is located at 2745 West Hartigan Road, was severely damaged when the driver, an 80-year-old man, drove through the plate glass window and came to a complete stop.
The driver was hospitalized with minor injuries, and appears to have had one female passenger in his Honda Accord at the time of the incident. One customer of the restaurant was checked for injuries but found to be uninjured.
The accident remains under investigation, and authorities are still unsure what caused the man to drive into the restaurant.
Damage to the restaurant is expected to total $35,000.
