Motorcyclist Terance Cavins, 36, was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Moline on Monday afternoon.
Shortly after 4:00 p.m., Moline was headed north on 7th Street on his motorcycle, a Kawasaki ZX750, when he collided with the front driver side door of a westbound 1999 Pontiac at the intersection of 7th Street and 35th Avenue.
Cavins, a Moline native, was thrown onto the windshield. He was taken to a hospital in Rock Island, where he died of traumatic chest and abdominal injuries.
The status of the Pontiac driver, an unidentified 32-year-old man, is unclear.
Following the crash, streets in the area were closed. The crash remains under investigation, and a toxicology report has yet to be completed.
