A fatal crash which occurred on Saturday morning along Ga. 400 in Forsyth County, Georgia led to the death of a 68-year-old man from Dawsonville after his vehicle drifted off the Highway and slammed into a tree. The sad incident took place on Saturday, March 21.
Confirming the fatal wreck, a spokesperson for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Stacie Miller, disclosed that the accident victim was the only occupant of a Toyota Camry, which was reported to have been involved in a crash at about 7:04 am.
Investigators determined that the Camry was moving through the south travel lanes on Ga. 400, near the exit ramp to Peachtree Parkway, when for reasons yet unknown, it swayed in another direction, drifting off the road until it crashed head-on into a tree in its path.
First responders attempted to rescue the motorist, but he was declared dead on the scene. A possible underlying medical condition was believed to have played a path in the ghastly accident as deduced from investigations, but the speculation was not verified immediately.
The deceased motorist was identified as Tommie Clark, 68, of Dawsonville. No other victim was involved in the crash.
Following the tragedy, the county’s coroner removed the deceased from the damaged car before the wreck was towed away to dislodge the roadway.
Clark’s remains were kept in the custody of the Medical Examiner’s Office of the Georgia Bureau for post mortem examinations to be carried out as part of investigations in line with the coroner’s directive.
