Authorities said one man was killed Saturday evening when he crashed his all-terrain cycle in Phoenix.
Miguel Villueneva, 34, died from injuries sustained in the wreck, according to car accident reports. Officials from the Phoenix Police Department did not say whether any other injuries were reported as a result of the wreck.
Police said Villanueva was driving an all-terrain cycle east on Devonshire Road at about 5 p.m. Saturday. As he approached 63rd Drive, he reportedly drove up onto a sidewalk, causing his vehicle to flip over.
Car accident reports state Villanueva was thrown from the cycle during the crash. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Villuanueva, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered a serious head injury, authorities reported. Emergency responders arrived on scene and transported Villaneuva to an area hospital, where he later was pronounced dead.
An all-terrain cycle is also known as a three-wheeler. The vehicles are similar in build and capability to their four-wheeled cousins, all-terrain or utility vehicles.
Authorities have not yet released many details about the incident. Car accident reports do not state whether factors such as speed or impairment are thought to have contributed to Villanueva losing control of his vehicle, causing it to roll over.
Police reports Sunday night also did not state whether investigators believe Villanueva intentionally drove his vehicle onto the sidewalk.
The crash remains under investigation by the Phoenix Police Department.
