The family of a woman who died last week after her vehicle was struck by a big rig in Sutallee, Georgia, may need to involve a car accident attorney while the case remains under investigation. The fatality was recorded on Friday, April 10.
Georgia State Patrol Troopers responded to the site of the wreck, in the area of Sweetwater Trail just after 8:15 am, following a frantic call reporting a two-vehicle collision.
Responding officers interrogated several eyewitnesses, who confirmed that one of the vehicles was clearly at fault in the traffic crash.
It was gathered that the offending vehicle, a semi-tractor trailer, driven by Clifford Anderson, 68, was traveling through the east traffic lanes on Georgia 108. The big rig then approached a traffic light, with its red signal up, upon reaching an intersection.
The semi operator failed to yield to the red light. As a result, he collided with an SUV, which was attempting a turn into Knox Bridge Highway, from Upper Sweetwater Trail at the time.
The driver of the SUV suffered critical injuries in the crash and was transported to Northside Hospital Cherokee. She succumbed to her wounds shortly after commencing treatment.
Authorities disclosed the fatal victim’s identity as Kathleen Quigley, 55. The reports did not reveal whether an arrest was made.
It is still unclear if Quigley’s family presented a car accident attorney who could represent them in the case.
Police are still investigating the traffic incident.
